As we've said before, the River Thames is not only the heart and main artery of London, it's the reason London exists in the first place. The ancient Romans though that this spot on this river was the perfect place to set up their administrative centre for Britain, and it's been just that for the past twenty centuries. (But, without Romans!)
Therefore, the best way to get a sense of the city is to cruise along its mighty river. Because the Thames is in the centre of things, you also get a chance to see the most iconic monuments of London. Things like Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, the modern skyscrapers in the City of London, with glimpses of Buckingham Palace and St Paul's Cathedral. Here, then, are our favourite daytime cruises along the River Thames.
This hop-on hop-off pass has you cruising up and down the Thames, at your leisure, for an entire day of sightseeing. Aboard the River Red Rover you glide past world-famous landmarks and relax onboard with commentary, refreshments and a full bar service.
Here's another place to Book Your Hop-On River Tour…
Departures are scheduled every 40 minutes from Westminster Pier, Waterloo Pier (near the London Eye), Tower Pier, and Greenwich Pier (near the Cutty Sark). With just one ticket you can hop-on or off at any of the piers as often as you like throughout the day.

This afternoon excursion follows a round-trip route to Westminster passing iconic landmarks from the Tower of London to the modern skyscrapers of the city's Square Mile including The Shard, Western Europe's tallest building.
While cruising along, savour your afternoon tea, beautifully presented with scones, clotted cream, finger sandwiches, a selection of cakes & freshly brewed British tea. Or celebrate with a glass of champagne!
We loved our experience. It was our favourite and most informative tour, without standing in line, looking for something to drink, or trying to understand what a guide was saying. The master of ceremonies was extremely humorous while still clearly giving us a great overview of a great city. We would recommend this tour to everyone who goes to London. 10 out of 10! Or 5 stars!"

Like to to go fast? One minute you're cruising gently under Tower Bridge, the next you are racing out towards the Thames Barrier at a rate of 50 knots.
The high-powered Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) are specially designed to operate on the River Thames. Choose between the Canary Wharf Experience or the longer cruise to see the shooting location of the James Bond movie, The World is Not Enough. Group size is restricted to 12 passengers.
Took this exciting ride with my 22 year old daughter and we loved it! The ride starts off at a pleasant cruising speed as the friendly and funny guide points out major landmarks along the way. About 20 minutes into the ride they hit the throttle and crank up the music as you race down the river towards Canary Wharf and then back again. Just the right amount of speed, action and thrills for people of all ages."
